And the winner is....

Sawasdee Muay Thai fans,

The weather gave break for a few hours last night to accommodate a gym BBQ and amateur fight night.
It was chicken on the Barbie as Getch layed out a feast like always. That was a lot of people there last night....new gym record....could be.
For entertainment a few guests and trainers mixed it up for few rounds for charity.
Happy to say we collected 5000 baht for Yod and his Kidney stone problem.

Thanks to Jess, Sarah, Izzy, and Frank, and trainers Berm and Ngoo for fighting and having fun.

BIG WELCOME to New MMA guest trainer Alex Reid. A Cage Rage fighter from U.K. Alex will be laying his stamp on our MMA program and training for his next big fight on Rage 18 and 19.

Davinci Code week. Guests travelling in groups to Central for movie. See ya there. Great book! Movie? We'll see.

More later...I'm off to the movies....

Cheers from the cheap seats.

Training.......-raining...it's all the same!

Sawasdee All,

It keeps on raining.....and we keep on training. Brief flashes of sunshine 30-60 minutes long break up the rainy days of the slow season this May 2006.

Hasn't stopped the training as we are busier than ever.

Daniel had 13 training in MMA program 2 days ago.
I told him it was OK to "choke a few out" to decrease sessions size.
Yesterday there were only 10.....oops. I guess he took me seriously....lol.

Old face showed up @ camp yesterday after a 3-4 month break. Welcome Back Niel.

BBQ Party on Satuday Night May 20....first BBQ since our Songkhran Bash. It took some time to recover from that party. All donations and proceeds to help Kroo Yod pay for his problem with Kidney Stones.

Growing Pains
: New training area going up soon as Khun Ei and workers finish new office. Look out for the new TWINS gear and training bags.

Way to go Willy: Willy, one of my favorite guests to date, who also brought me a present from the Phillipines, lost 24 pounds in 6 weeks. Nice Job, Willie. Shows what hard work and determination can do. Get back soon Pal. We all miss you.

Tanya the "Terminator" AKA Ms. starting TE for World Champion San Diego Womens Professional Footbal League in U.S.A.
has prepared for her upcoming season with 6 weeks of HARDCORE training. This girl is tough. She did admit that Kroo Phet and Berm have given her some serious workouts. Training Champions....that's what it is about. Go TMT and Tanya.

Jess about ready for her frst Muay Thai fight: Jess, Daniels girlfriend, and serious womens Muay Thai amatuer, is about ready for her first fight. She has been training 3+ months with several of our trainers. Jess has good hands and has really worked her boxing skills. More details as fight time nears.

Back to raining...I mean training...well hell, not much difference today.

Alas, I admit, I am not a Professor of Muay Thai...only Journalism. Just a sportswriter with a knack for catchy names. Muay Thai novice, fan, and promoter I am...hence my name can not be anonymous like some.

Cheers from the cheap seats!

Here today and Gone tomorrow

Sawasdee All,

Another 50-50 day of rain and shine around Phuket. That big Typhoon hammering Hong Kong has sent some rain bands accross South Thailand leaving Phuket humid and hot. I'm not complaining, we have a water shortage here in Phuket, so we welcome the rain.

Success is like the winds of change! Kroo Lwang is getting so much attention after training @ the camp, he has already had to cut down his time with some guests to concentrate on his upcoming Big $ fights. Lawng definitely has some skills and incredible hand speed.Trainer Ngoo won his fight last night @ Bangla Muay Thai Stadium in Patong. Ngoo has been on a roll and looking very good in his fights using solid technique and powerful leg kicks.
